Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe, with no harmful side effects and is used  to help relax clients both physically and mentally therefore allowing their subconscious  to communicate with their conscious mind. As such good quality hypnosis produces a deep state of relaxation enabling the subconscious mind to focus easily on the things that need changing. Using the power of your imagination, direct suggestion and analytical techniques I work with you to make those beneficial changes. It’s nothing like stage hypnosis, I am  respectful to you and you do remain aware and are in control at all times. Hypnotherapy can be  likened to keyhole surgery, in as much as it is short, sharp and to the point, which allows the me the therapist to access the root cause of the problems in the shortest possible time and therefore assist you in fixing the cause and  not just manage the symptoms. Here at A beautiful Mind I combine my skills as Master/Clinical hypnotist with the following therapies to assist my clients in an uniquely individual way tailoring each session to fit you the client .

Frequently asked questions

Can Hypnosis help me?

Anyone with an unconscious mind can be helped, so anyone can be helped with hypnotherapy.

Do I need a referral from my G.P. ?

No, although doctors do refer clients for hypnotherapy, it is certainly not a requirement for most conditions.

Will I be aware of what is going on?

Yes, you will. You will quickly realise that you can open your eyes if you feel you need to; that you yourself control the hypnotic process

Can I be controlled or made to do things against my will?

No, everything you do under hypnosis is done voluntarily. Your ability to decide what you should and shouldn't do is unaffected, your conscience and morals will still be present.

Is it dangerous ?

Relaxation is not dangerous, and as hypnosis is merely a state of deep relaxation then it is entirely safe. You can 'break trance' whenever you wish as you will be aware that you are in charge

Can I be sure of waking up ?

You will not be asleep, so you will not need to be awoken. However, you will be in an altered state of awareness should you choose to be, where your unconscious is more present than usual. In the same way that our unconscious wakes us every morning, your mind will look after you and alert you if appropriate to full conscious awareness

How will I feel afterwards ?

There are many positive side effects of a hypnotherapy session. Relaxation improves, enthusiasm and self-determination increase and the client's overall outlook changes considerably, knowing they have the tools within themselves to effect the required change.

NLP (Neuro linguistic programming) is a powerful tool for personal development and communication in all kinds of fields, NLP offers you a way of understanding how you and others function mentally and behaviourally, as humans beings we are creatures of habit, in what we think what we feel and what we do. Whilst some habits and thought patterns are useful others can be ineffective, limiting or even undermining, NLP gives you the tools to change or fine tune your thoughts and behaviours, to literally reframe  your thought patterns …. Thus enabling you to have the life you want and effectively to create you own future.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) focuses on the here and now problems and difficulties by helping you to change how you think ‘Cognitive’ and what you do ‘Behaviour.’ it helps to improve your state of mind and assists you in  feeling better about yourself and about your life. CBT is often used to help clients make sense of overwhelming problems by breaking them down into smaller more manageable parts, making it easier to see how the parts are connected and how they affect you.

CBT is one of the most effective treatments used for anxiety or depression.

CBT helps you identify and question any unrealistic negative thoughts, patterns and beliefs and replaces them with more positive alternatives, helping you to improve how you feel and to gain a  new positive outlook on life.

The advantage of CBT is that you can continue to practise and develop your skills even after the sessions have   finished

EFT (emotional freedom therapy) has been described as "psychological acupuncture” but without the needles. EFT, Connects mind, body and emotions via our energy meridians. EFT is a therapy that focuses on the area where thoughts, energy and emotion overlap and it offers a new way to achieve emotional fulfilment. While experiencing or focusing on a specific problem, and tapping on the meridians that carry the energy, disruptions are cleared and normal function can resume.

EFT has often been found to work where nothing else will, and the results are generally permanent, so it is certainly well worth including in the holistic approach to healing the body and mind.

IMPORTANT:No therapy can give you a 100% guarantee of a cure. Whilst clinical hypnotherapy is very safe, if you suffer from epilepsy, or are undergoing psychiatric treatment, then you should obtain a letter from your doctor to confirm that you may have hypnotherapy.
